FAQ

Arrangement Care

A little extra care will make a significant difference in the life of your flowers. Keep the vase filled to the top with clean water. There is no need for you to add anything but fresh water.  To keep your entire arrangement looking fresh, simply pluck fading flowers off the stem.  If your arrangement is in a basket or a shallow dish, please keep the floral foam saturated. Keep your arrangement in a cool place and out of direct sunlight; 65 to 70 degrees is optimal. Keep away from heating or cooling vents, fans, and radiators.

Order Confirmation

When your order is placed on the website, you will see a "Thank You" page which will have an online order confirmation number on it. This is confirmation that your order has successfully been placed. Your order is then sent over a secure connection to The Empty Vase. If placed between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm PST, then it will be processed within the hour. If placed after 3:00 pm PST your order will be processed the following day. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been downloaded and received at Empty Vase Florist. If there are any problems with your order, one of our customer service associates will contact you by phone or email.  If you have any questions about an existing order, previous order, or would like to change an order please call us toll free at (888) 283-9890.

Seasonal Flowers

If our floral designers are out of a particular decorative element, i.e. a specific basket, vase, plush, etc., they may substitute a similar element of equal or greater value. It is our policy to reach out and get approval from the customer before any substitutions are made. Due to delivery time restraints, if we cannot get in contact with you the florist will use their discretion to decide. We select the most creative florists to be on our team who professionally recreate our designs based on their creative interpretation. The "look and feel" of our arrangements featured will remain the same, with our florists paying careful attention to overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. Our florists will use only the freshest flowers, and so will make substitutions depending on seasonal and regional availability. In single-variety arrangements only, variety will take preference over color. For instance, if a florist is out of "yellow tulips," they will substitute another color of tulips, not another yellow flower.

Our Story at The Empty Vase

Where flowers become more than beautiful—they become unforgettable.

Since 1988, The Empty Vase has set the standard for what a florist in Los Angeles can be. What began as a small Parisian-inspired flower stand on Robertson Boulevard has blossomed into one of LA’s most sought-after floral design houses—renowned for our inventive arrangements, grand-scale installations, and a deeply artistic approach to every bloom.

Founder Saeed Babaeean’s background in architecture shaped the earliest vision for The Empty Vase. His belief: floral design, like architecture, should shape space, tell stories, and stir emotion. Guided by that philosophy, what started as a single vase filled with imagination has grown into a brand recognized across the country for creativity, luxury, and soul.

A Boutique Rooted in Design and Detail

From the beginning, The Empty Vase has focused on more than just flowers. We’re known as a florist Los Angeles trusts for beauty with structure and form. Every bouquet, centerpiece, or sculpture we make is approached with an artist’s eye—carefully balancing shape, color, movement, and emotion.

We believe florals are not simply decorative. They’re architectural. They carry meaning. And when done right, they leave an imprint long after the petals fall.

Walk into our West Hollywood flagship and you’ll find a space filled with life: chandeliers wrapped in climbing vines, vessels from Europe and Asia, seasonal installations, and rows of curated home décor. The boutique is as much an experience as it is a retail space, and we’ve kept it that way to honor the spirit of discovery our clients have come to love.

From One Vase to Thousands of Stories

The name The Empty Vase was never about absence. It’s about potential. Each vase is a canvas. And in every empty vessel, there’s room to tell a story.

Over the decades, we’ve designed for Hollywood studios, five-star hotels, global brands, and private residences across Los Angeles. We’ve created installations on rooftops, transformed ballrooms into enchanted gardens, and helped countless clients mark life’s most intimate moments—from weddings to memorials, from new beginnings to just-because blooms.

Our work can be seen in editorial shoots, movie premieres, museum openings, and luxury weddings. Yet no matter the scale, we treat every project with the same care: one arrangement, one emotion, one perfect moment at a time.

The Empty Vase Difference

As a top florist in Los Angeles, our promise is simple: no repeats, no shortcuts, no stock designs. Everything we create is custom, made-to-order, and guided by the client’s mood, vision, and purpose.

What sets us apart:

  • Artistic Foundation: With roots in architecture and design, our arrangements are thoughtfully built—not just styled.

  • Premium Sourcing: We fly in rare and seasonal blooms from around the world to ensure quality and longevity.

  • Full-Service Production: From sketches to installation, our events team handles every detail, including lighting, styling, and on-site execution.

  • White-Glove Delivery: Handled in-house with temperature-controlled vehicles, ensuring freshness and form on arrival.

  • Unmatched Experience: With over 35 years in the business, we’ve served generations of families and businesses in LA.

Inspired by Los Angeles, Designed for the World

Los Angeles is more than our location—it’s our inspiration. The diversity of people, landscapes, and design sensibilities in this city shape how we approach our work. From Malibu’s organic minimalism to Beverly Hills' ornate elegance, our designs mirror the richness of LA’s culture.

As a florist Los Angeles creatives and connoisseurs turn to again and again, we understand that no two clients are alike. That’s why each design begins with listening. What are you celebrating? Who is it for? What do you want them to feel? From there, we build with precision and poetry.

Whether it’s a single bouquet or a full-scale transformation, we treat each project with the same intention: to create beauty that lingers in memory.

Our Clients, Our Collaborators

Our clients range from first-time flower buyers to seasoned stylists, celebrities, production designers, brides, and CEOs. But no matter who walks through our doors, we treat every person the same: as a creative collaborator. Someone who brings a vision—or a feeling—and trusts us to shape it in petals and stems.

As a florist Los Angeles turns to for high-impact design, we pride ourselves on discretion, reliability, and artistry. That’s why so many of our clients return year after year, event after event, celebration after celebration.

Looking Ahead with Purpose

While we’ve grown over the decades, we remain true to our origins. Every new project is still rooted in creativity and care. Every vase, still a blank page. We continue to evolve—introducing sustainable practices, expanding our in-house design team, and exploring modern interpretations of florals through fashion, art, and architecture.

We’re honored to be known as a premier florist in Los Angeles, but we know that reputation means nothing without consistency, humility, and heart. That’s what we bring to every arrangement, every delivery, every installation.

Florist Los Angeles Residents Return to Again and Again

At The Empty Vase, florals are more than what we do. They’re how we connect—with people, with beauty, and with moments that matter. We are proud to be part of Los Angeles’ creative fabric and to help shape some of the most memorable experiences in our clients’ lives.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Let’s create something beautiful together.
